I learned to weave and spin about 25 years ago at a knitting shop that offered weaving and spinning lessons. Over time, I came to love spinning and weaving more and more while selling my work at a few local shows. In 2002, I decided to leave my position as an employee to follow my dream of becoming a full-time fiber artisan doing work that I love. I continue to sell my work at fairs, festivals and from my website.
In 1998, I learned to make soap at a class held at "Tom's of Maine" and discovered another "hobby" that I enjoy almost as much as I love my fiber work. As a result, I now offer my homemade soaps, lip balms, body oils/creams and soy candles for sale.
The name "Crunchy Granola" was used most often by customers and friends in reference to my work. To me, it is a compliment as it implies work done by hand, homemade, natural, quality. In 2006, I changed the entire name of my business to
"If you take the leap of faith, you will learn to fly"
